In Bangkok, there are many standardized hospitals around the city. Some foreigners chose Bangkok as a medical treatment destination because they trusted in professional medical standards, staff, and qualified services. Hospitals are managed by both public and private entities. The differences among them are costs and ease of access. These are lists of hospitals that you can select the one where suits you.

Public Hospitals.

On this website, public hospitals are mostly operated under the Ministry of Public Health and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) with government funding and supporting. Most of them are in the city center and they are free of charge for people who have provided privileges or rights from the government (as a social security system). However, in this kind of hospital, you may take a long time to do all the processes (to see the doctor or have medical treatment) because there are many patients daily. In the city center, there are 15 hospitals and 69 BMA health centers to serve the expats as follows:

Siriraj Hospital.

It is known as the best hospital in Thailand from opinion of Thai people. It is a medical school of Mahidol University.

Private Hospitals are operated by a person or a group of persons who invests and establishes their own hospital, but they are all required to meet the standard of hospital and laws. Private hospitals have advantages because they are selective choices for specified people who need to have medical treatment conveniently. In the case

Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) provides 69 Primary Health Care Centers for minor pain or injury cases. These Public Health Centers provide general medicine services under the Health Department of BMA.

Before seeing a doctor (Both hospitals and public health centers)
Most of hospitals, people can see a doctor without an appointment; however, some hospitals may require scheduling in advance. Indeed, making an appointment in advance can sometimes save your time. For the first–time, you must carry some important documents with you as follows:

– Health Insurance Card

– Passport

– Identity Card – residence card

– Cash – some hospitals only accept cash payment or QR Paymant

– Credit Card (Optional)

– Medications and dietary supplements that you are currently taking

– Current situation and symptoms, including pain and illness
